NUTCRACKER - Winner: Through The Lense Film Competition, Queenstown, New Zealand-  Aug 2016

A highlight reel from a road trip through New Zealand's Club Field ski area Temple Basin with a team of European Freeride skiers from the World Tour and Qualifier circuits. After a 4 day road trip filming, this edit was put together in 24 hours to meet the competition deadline. Published on the Through The Lense Facebook Page with over 50k reach in just a few days.

A couple of quick edits I made for the Avorinet Website to explain some of the different attractions in the local ski area.

'THE ENDLESS WINTER 2015' - 2nd place, Through the Lense film competition, Queenstown, New Zealand. This mashup showcases the fruits of back to back ski seasons in the European Alps and the Southern Alps on the south Island of New Zealand.

Nice to get the Northern Hemisphere season off to a good start to continue the epic year that has been 2015. A 5:30am start in Morzine, 5 hours to drop a car in front of the range and drive around to the back where a 7 hour skinning session brought us to the hut at 2880m. A decent log stove, a fondue, some long exposure snaps, and a cosy night before skinning across the glacier, boot packing up to the col, lowering over the scree slope entrance, skiing 600m vert, 40 minute search for an anchor above fist step, a third abseil down the final step, a 40 minute descent on some deep crusty and a 45 minute walk in ski boots down through the woods we got to the van, drove back round the other side to collect the landy and then 3 hours to morzine by 10pm. Lovely. Quick 24 hour turnaround on the edit and he presto...

The Treble Edit has built and developed strong digital presence for Reed Chillcheater in a very short period of time. The watersport clothing company has greatly improved its brand awareness through a youtube channel, telling the world who they are and what they do. Through video, the brand can show their products in action as well as effectively communicate any new developments such as a new website or product. This dialogue has grown the company's audience for future messages and promoted their services to a wider market.

This short video, designed as a channel trailer for Reed, tells the brands story in a few minutes. There for all to see forever, this quick message is easily shared online and Reed can also use this in any communications with other brands or shows.

On a friday evening, reed contacted The Treble Edit saying their new website was going live on Monday morning and asked for a short video to tell their fans about it. This quick gesture helped drive traffic to the new website and generate feedback, making the launch substantially more successful.

We had a heap of photos sent in from people using Reed products over the years and they were effectively going to waste. This video puts them all together in an easy to watch, easy to share edit and is currently serving as a great advert for the company on Youtube.

Similarly, we had a mess of video clips and files of people using Reed products which had built up. Again, this quick edit puts all of them into one place, advertising the company, not only building their own following but also tapping into the audiences of the featured athletes.

The Treble Edit has been working with Avoriaz Alpine Ski School for 3 seasons now and the impact video marketing has had on the company has been huge. Keeping a constant video dialogue on social media exposes the ski school to large and growing audiences and the number of clients who come in complimenting 'the latest video' is overwhelming. Many clients who would otherwise never had heard of Avoriaz Alpine Ski School!

Managed to break my beloved old Flexfire on the morning session of this day so decided to do something useful with the afternoon and film an edit - the UK Pro Surf Tour Event in November 2015. First surf edit I've made and was a challenge using only my Sony A65 and a jolty old lense - smooth video panning was a nightmare but the edit still tells the event story and captures some nice turns.

A day shooting backcountry skiing with Aaron worked out as a great advert for the ski school's backcountry guides and avalanches awareness clinics.

Our video tutorials have been a great success, growing our brand awareness not only to clients but also helping us partner with chalet companies, giving technical talks and showing films in bars.

Sometimes little and often is the best way to forward in digital marketing. People can often get bogged down in being overly contientious in videography which can become slow and cumbersome. This clip was filmed in the morning and uploaded before 4pm. Saying 'fun day skiing moguls today' grabs far more attention and this edit was seen by thousand on Facebook. Timing is important.

Filming kids lessons captures great memories and edited videos make perfect souvenirs which can be easily shared and enjoyed forever. Imagine watching these videos of your grandparents in 90 years! This mashup of Kids lessons serves as a great advert for the Ski School too

The latest end of the season video for the staff social - a pleasure for me to edit, sometimes a bit embarassing for instructors to watch!
